History of Armand de Brignac Rosé

The Armand de Brignac house was created by Jean-Jacques Cattier at the turn of the century. Today, he works with his son Alexandre Cattier and together they create some of the world’s most prestigious champagnes. The Armand de Brignac Rosé champagne was first introduced in 2008 and it instantly became a worldwide sensation due to its extraordinary features. In 2017, the Armand de Brignac Rosé was named the “Best Rosé Champagne of the World”.

The name Armand de Brignac was actually the idea of the founder’s mother. According to Jean-Jacques Cattier, his mother read a novel where the character’s name was “de Brignac” and she liked the name very much. She trademarked the name in the 1950’s, but it was only used decades later when Jean-Jacques named this champagne house.

A fun fact is that Jay-Z, the highly influential American rapper is the co-owner of the Armand de Brignac brewing company, alongside the Cattier family. He’s regularly seen enjoying a bottle of this exquisite bubbly on parties and various gatherings.

Additionally to the grapes, three vintages from 2009, 2010 and 2012 are also added to the blend.

The bubbly has already spent several years in one of the house’s cellars, but it can be aged for another 10 or 15 years for further excellence.
