The Ice Impérial is another distinguished champagne from the Moët & Chandon French fine winery that has been producing some of the best sparkling wines since 1743. Over the years, this brewery has established itself as one of the leading houses in the champagne world.
The Moët & Chandon name is recognized all over the globe and their champagnes are a popular drink in elite restaurants, formal gatherings and higher class brothels. And the Ice Impérial blend isn’t the only world-renowned sparkling wine from this brewing house. All Moët & Chandon champagnes have the same high quality ingredients that make them so unique and special.
History of Ice Impérial
The Moët & Chandon brewing house was founded by Claude Moët 275 years ago and ever since then, this winery has played a crucial role in the champagne business. Their brand is often times closely associated with style, grace and some of the best champagnes money can buy. This brewing company has over 2,800 acres of vineyards and they produce around 28 million bottles of premier champagne each year.
All of the Impérial blends that Moët & Chandon produces were originally created by Jean-Rémy Moët, the grandson of the winery’s founder. Jean-Rémy Moët is responsible for the brewing house’s worldwide fame, as he was supplying his finest champagnes to some of the noblest families throughout Europe.
Ice Impérial is the only champagne that was created to be enjoyed over ice. The addition of ice makes this sparkling wine truly unique and you get a fresh and fun sensation while drinking it; a sensation that you won’t find in any other champagne. Of course, the signature fruity taste and aroma that most Moët & Chandon champagnes have is present in the Ice Impérial too.
The Signature Blend of Ice Impérial
The concoction that makes up the Ice Impérial consists of the following wines: the 40-50% Pinot Noir gives the wine its fruitiness, the 30-40% Pinot Meunier gives it the rich melting sensation that you feel and the 10-20% Chardonnay is just there for a refreshing finish. 20-30% of the whole blend is wines that have been specifically selected to bring out the Ice Impérial’s intensity, constancy and richness.
Every bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne is left for at least 21 months in the cellar before they are distributed. This gives it the mature and intense flavor and aroma that the champagne and the brewing house is known for.
The Characteristics of Ice Impérial
As you would expect from a high quality Moët & Chandon bubbly, the Ice Impérial also has that characteristic tropical fruit aroma. On the nose, the Ice Impérial has aromas of mango, guava, nectarine and a hint of raspberry. The bouquet of this sparkling wine is exceptionally fruity and refreshing.
Once you take the first gulp of this exceptional drink, you will immediately realize why it is so popular around the world. Being the only champagne that’s served on ice also gives it a flavor and freshness that you won’t find anywhere else. Even though Ice Impérial is a medium-dry champagne, the taste of it is extraordinarily fruity. Due to its sweetness, this champagne is best enjoyed with mint leaves, cucumber peel, red fruits and especially lime zest.
The Ice Impérial has a very recognizable deep gold color, with visible amber highlights. Like most other Moët & Chandon champagnes, the Ice Impérial also has a 12% alcohol rate.
Ice Impérial in Maxim
Since the Ice Impérial is the only champagne in the world that was specifically made to be enjoyed on ice, it had to be included on Maxim’s Champagne Card. In addition to the Ice Impérial, you can also find other Moët & Chandon champagnes, such as Impérial, Rosé Impérial and Nectar Impérial. The reputation that the brewing house has amassed for itself ensures that regardless of which blend you choose, you’re not going to be disappointed. Additionally, this icy drink won’t cool the Maxim girls off; on the contrary, ordering a bottle of Ice Impérial while in the company of a Maxim girl will make quite an impression. Ladies love fancy things and you can hardly find anything fancier than a prestigious bottle of chilled bubbly.
