The Ritz-Carlton hotel building in Vienna is set between four nineteenth century palaces that have been linked together. The buildings were originally built between 1865 and 1871 and they were separate from one another. Works have been done on the building from 1939 to 1970 and the four palaces have been slowly but surely linked together. The interlinked palaces were used as a bank and office building until it was sold in its entirety to Erste Bank. The property was used as an Erste Bank office building until 2005, when it was sold once again and turned into the prestigious hotel it is today.
